Jesus Christ Superstar June 2-4 2023
We are excited to be, FINALLY after a three year delay, presenting the iconic rock opera 'Jesus Christ Superstar". Although it is not a new show to us it will be new in every way! From the venue of the Acadia University Andrew H. McCain Arena (where else would you host a rock concert) to larger cast, to larger than life sound, lighting and effects. It is not one to be missed! Maybe you got to see the sneak preview last June? If you didn’t, click the video below to see what you missed- only in June 2023 it will be bigger and more elaborate!

Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera based on the last week of Jesus’ life.
Lyrics by Tim Rice
Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber
What’s the buzz? The first musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice to be produced for the professional stage, Jesus Christ Superstar has wowed audiences for over 40 years. A timeless work, the rock opera is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally-known series of events but seen, unusually, through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.
Loosely based on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Superstar follows the last week of Jesus Christ’s life. The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers and the Roman Empire.
The iconic 1970s rock score contains such well-known numbers as “Superstar,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” and “Gethsemane.”

A huge thank you goes out to the Lions Club of Coldbrook for their incredible generosity! Mary & Janet Ross, a Stage Prophets Family member attended a dinner hosted by the Coldbrook Lions Club at which time they honoured us with a generous donation. This donation will go to purchasing an assistive listening system that is portable and can be used in an arena or the Festival Theatre Building. It will allow individuals with hearing disabilities to be able to connect their hearing devices to the sound system. We are working hard to remove barriers for those who wish to attend and enjoy live artistic performances but haven't been able to or at a reduced capacity. The Lions gift to our theatre community allows us to make the Arts more accessible to all! Thank you Coldbrook Lions for helping us to continue to build a community of joy where everyone is welcome to experience the exceptional.
